  • First time back home in 10 years. Off the flight at 9.40am and straight to Spoons to sample their famous Scottish breakfast. Place was tidy, clean and staff friendly. Food was exceptional. Shame it was too early for a cake as the selection was mouthwatering, especially those strawberry tarts!. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.

  • The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm, lots of life and smiles. All staff were really nice. The coffee was fantastic, really well balanced flavour (with a wee free treat on the side!). The starter was fantastic and our mains (Ruskie dumplings) we're to die for, good enough to make any granny proud. Would definetly recommend to anyone ranging from someone wanting a proper coffee to someone missing their home cooking. (we didnt try anything off the polish menu) Also the only place ive seen selling apple mint Tymbark, which alone makes the place 6 stars if possible :)

  • Love love love this coffee shop!!! My mother and I often go there for there pancakes/crepes. They are the best I have had. They are made to order, hot, fluffy and the batter itself is just right. You can tell there was a lot of love and care into making each one. Our favourite is chocolate crepes. They always add some fruit and creme at the side. To die for!!! They sure make a good size pot of tea and excellent lattes. The service is excellent and with lovely friendly staff. They also have many other scrumptious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You sure get more than your moneys worth. Fantastico!!!

  • Popped in with my husband to try Doris's coffee house, not realising that we had met Doris years before! We received a very warm friendly welcome from Doris who had regularly served several years before in another restaurant. We had no idea Doris now owned this new cafe. I recall her telling us before that she'd love to have her own place one day and now she has fulfilled her ambition. Well done Doris! We only had the toast with avocado and scrambled egg but it was delicious. We also took away some of her homemade Polish stew with dumplings which was very tasty. We will definitely be back again!

  • A Polish friend recommended here, and it did not disappoint. We had goulash and a schnitzel, and both were the best we had ever tasted. This is Polish home cooking made to order, so do not expect it to be fast food!

  • Been wanting to try here for a while and finally made it in today. Doris is super friendly and we picked two types of dumplings to start, pork schnitzel, potato croquettes in a mushroom sauce and I had the potato cakes with goulash. Everything is made fresh so there is a wee wait but Doris gave us some potato skins to hold us off while she cooked our feast! The pierogi’s were amazing, my mum and dad loved the haggis ones in particular. I enjoyed them all the onion with this dish just finished it off perfectly. My dad loved his pork schnitzel, as did my mum with her croquettes (she loved her wee soup with it too) and my goulash was magic. Everything was so fresh and the portions are not small! We had to box some for later lol My dad got a polish apple pie to take away too :) Absolute delight to visit today and we’ll def be back - if you’ve not tried polish food then go and give it a try :)
